In the picturesque resort village of Bakony, in the former granary of the abbey of Zirc a collection of nature conservation and forestry was established. It displays the natural values and fauna of High Bakony, species of trees of its forests, sylviculture, the process of afforestation, old maps and wood-working. Publications, souvenirs are available. The collection on the ground floor presents the geological history, the main rocks, minerals, interesting geological events of the Bakony hills. Photos of the important plant communities and protected plants can also be seen. In the exhibition hall on the first floor the activities of the people living and working in the forests and utilizing its goods such as foresters, hunters and wood-workers are presented. A spectacular diorama presents the wild animals living in the Bakony hills.
