The symbol of Sopron is the Town Tower (Fire Tower). The lower cylindrical part was built on Roman wall ruins, since the 13th century it has served as the northern gate tower of the town walls. The present shape was formed and the Baroque round balcony and the helmet were built after the great fire in 1676. From the round balcony there is a wonderful view of the town.
