The museums of county Baranya constitute one of the largest and most comprehensive museum networks of Hungary. These museums have been taking part in the collection and the scientific research of the relics of the past since 1904 and by presenting them to the public they contribute both to the extension of the people's knowledge of local history and that of their self-knowledge and to the forming of their attitude to history.
