Other information:

The Geological Museum of Hungary comprises the greatest geological collection in Hungary. The collection was founded in 1868, a year before the establishment of the Hungarian Geological Institution. About 150 000 inventorized and half a million recorded minerals and fossils are in the 28 thematic collections of the 130-year-old museum. The drilling samples that are stored on four different premises in the country are also invaluable. The most important task of the museum is to preserve those objects and relics that have a relevance to the history of science and document the geological structure of the country. The museum with its scientific finds is a goldmine for researchers, on the other hand visitors can also find many interesting things in the exhibitions of the main hall and the corridors.

Opening hours during the season: Látogatás csak előzetes egyeztetés után.
