The centre of the city has completely changed compared to its state 7 years ago. New cafes, restaurants, hotels have been opened, new parks and underground car parks have been built. There are no parked cars in the square outside the Bas ilica any more. The square has been covered with decoration stones which fits in with the atmosphere of the Basilica, and there is enough parking place for cars under the square. The car park built in April 2003 uses the most modern technology. This is the first machine-operated, automated garage, where you just drive in the bay on the entrance level and answer some control questions, while a computer is recording all the parameters of the car. Then the owner of the car gets a parking marker , which is necessary for getting the car back, and the computerized, fully automated system parks the car in a free place. The car park can be easily used by the disabled.
