The Budapest Zoo and Botanical Garden, which was established in 1866, is one of the oldest zoos of the world. In the beautiful environment more than 700 animal species representing the tropical, moderate and frigid zones and 2,000 kinds of plants are presented to the visitors.
An exotic attraction is the Palm House with a real tropical atmosphere, under which you can see the sea aquarium presenting the coulourful world of the coral reefs.
The children can take part in the ZOO-OLYMPIC Games, where they can compare their skills with the animals', they can enjoy themselves at the Playground or at the Playhouse and they can also visit the Children's Zoo or attend the programme called "Animals in Action" for close encounter with tame animals.
