Village with 830 inhabitants 11 km east of Marcali. It is situated 10 air kilometres from Lake Balaton. It used to be a village on the lake shore mentioned in records in 1395 under the name Mikala. The Berzsenyi mansion was built in neo-Classical style, the poet Dániel Berzsenyi lived here until 1836, now it is a Memorial Museum. The park surrounding the building is a Nature Conservation Area. An obelisk was raised on the tomb of the poet in 1860.
