Village with 770 inhabitants 15 km from Keszthely. It is the last settlement on the southern shore. Csillagvár (= Star Castle) on the outskirts of Balatonszentgyörgy can be reached on a tour route marked by a red triangle. The extremely interesting, fortress-like structure with a star-shaped layout, for long thought to be a border castle, was built as hunting-seat by László Festetics in the 1820s. The exhibition put on show in the building illustrates the life of the warriors of the border castles.
