in Erdőbénye:   Hotel - Sight - Wellness, Spa - Travel Service

Small village with 1470 inhabitants at the foot of Zemplén, 26 km north-east of Szerencs. The Roman Catholic church got its present form at the end of the 18th century, but its tower still preserves medieval Gothic characteristics. The Calvinist church is from 1726 in Louis XVI. style. The Szirmay mansion was built in the second half of the 1700s in Baroque style as well as the Budaházi-Fekete mansion - although the latter is more than 100 years older -, that is why it is more famous. The Column of Cholera on the vine hill is in memory of the victims of the cholera epidemic in 1831. Other sight include: the Jewish cemetery in Dózsa street, the cemetery of piety in Mátyás király street. A pleasant excursion spot is the Erdőbénye-Aranyos valley.
