The small village with 350 inhabitants is situated south of Marcali, along the railway line between Balatonszentgyörgy and Somogyszob. It is almost built together with Mesztegnyő, which has a railway station. It is accessible by local bus. It was mentioned in records several times in the Middle Ages: under the name Kelevez in 1273, as Keleviz in 1397 and as Kelewyz in 1417. Its parish is mentioned in documents. A pension can be found in the former mill. The Kézsmárk farm has a typical atmosphere of the Hungarian puszta with grey cattle, mangalica pigs and a riding court. |
