Village with 1,084 inhabitants on the eastern part of Borsod-Abaúj-Zemplén county, at the south-western foot of the Zemplén mountains. An ethnic German settlement of the Tokaj Historical Wine Region, which is part of the World Heritage. Prince Trautschon settled the ancestors of the inhabitants from the area of Schwarzwald and Baden Lake of the county Baden Würtenberg. The ethnic German inhabitants preserve their language, cultural traditions and relics, their activity plays an important role in the tourism in the village. There is high standard German language education in the nursery school and the bilingual primary school. The amateur cultural groups (choir, dance groups, band) dressed in national costumes with nice programmes, the residents with Swabian hospitality, dishes and Tokaj wine produced on the confines of the village make the time spent here memorable for visitors.
