in Somogyszentpál:   Hotel

The village is situated south of Lake Balaton, at the western border of Nagyberek. It was formed when two villages, Tótszentpál and Varjaskér were united. Both villages have a mediaeval history. The ruins of the 13th century church of Varjaskér can still be seen. Later Slovaks settled down in Tótszentpál. After the drainage of Nagyberek, the original bog remained in the deeper territories. Its peaceful water is covered by white and yellow water-lilies, the egret, the spoonbill, the common heron breed here. This territory is called the Nagyberek-Fehérvíz Bog Nature Conservation Area.
