in Lesencefalu:   Hotel

The village with the fewest inhabitants of the 'Lesence settlements'. It is situated in the vicinity of Lake Balaton in a closed valley. The road Tapolca-Lesencetomaj-Keszthely runs by Lesencefalu. The picturesque village is surrounded by forests, orchards and vineyards. It was first mentioned in documents in 1365 by the name of Németfalu, which referred to the German settlers. The latter name, Lesencenémetfalu was shortened to Lesencefalu in 1940. The inhabitants mainly live on stock-breeding but they also deal with viniculture. The village takes part in the programmes of 'From Lesencék to Lake Balaton'. Another important event is the feast on Peter-Paul's Day. The Village day is held together with the programmes on children's day.
