The village is located 8 km from Várpalota. It has 2,206 inhabitants. It offers several opportunities such as hunting, fishing, horse riding and cycling to visitors. The local protected lakes rich in fish provide a natural habitat for several highly protected bird species. The village prides itself on its 24 built up stork nests. A popular route of the riding tours leads to the Roman tumuli of Inota. Lake Balaton is easily accessible from Ősi by bicycle. Accommodation is available in the hunting lodge and in Kertész farm next to it. The well-known actress Anna Kubik and László Fekete, the strongest man of Hungary, were born in the village. Both of them visit their home village regularly and support the village with their performances. Painter Imre Kovács, who lives and works in the village, was also born here. His paintings have been presented at more than 100 exhibitions so far. The artist has been organizing an international wood carving camp since 2003. Painter András Kása also lives and works here. An outstanding event is the advent concert organized by the local Kolping Family Association. The village is a member of the Regio Pelso Public Foundation, which was established to support the local children. Ősi celebrates the 1,000th anniversary of its foundation in 2007.
