It is accessible from Kaposvár or Pécs by taking the access road to Szágy from road No. 66. The name of the village probably originates from the name of chieftain Árpád’s grandson, Tormás, but according to a ”less academic” explanation, it simply refers to the horse-raddish and the place where this wild plant grows. In the 1920s Germans settled down in the village.
