Village with 1,100 inhabitants on road No. 3 , 9 km from Gyöngyös in the direction of Eger. The village has a specific atmosphere, with a lot of peasant houses from the last century, which were protected from pulling down by the building prohibition of 1960-69. The Roman Catholic church was rebuilt several times. It got its present form in 1878. The statue of Saint John of Nepomok in front of the church is from 1846. The life of the village is largely influenced by the Mátra steam power station, which gives job for most of the local people. The newly built sports stadium provides good possibility for sports.
