It is situated in the south-west of Rábaköz, on the northern side of main road No. 86. The river Small Rába flows across the village. This is the largest and central settlement of the Regional Development Association of the Local Councils of South-Rábaköz. The name of the village comes from a personal name Belud, which was commonly used in the Osl clan. It was first mentioned in records in 1230. At Present Beled includes the village of Vica, the mill of which stood here as early as 1162. A typical building of the main street is the Barthodeiszky mansion, which was built only at the end of the 19th century according to plans by Schöne, a German architect. The building was completed in 1890. The fishing association of the village has a more than 10 ha water surface, which attracts many anglers from abroad , as well. The only sports hall of the region is situated here offering various sports facilities. The neighbourhood is suitable for horse riding tours, too. The modern gym of the Delta Bodybuilding Club offers an excellent recreation for the lovers of this sport.
