in Dunaegyháza:   Sight

The village of Slovakian nationaliy is accessible on roads No. 51 and 52. The cemeteries from the age of Avars at the border of the village, two of which have been uncovered partially and one of which is to be excavated, prove that it was inhabited as early as that time. It was first mentioned in a document from the chapter archives of Veszprém in 1217. After the Turkish occupation Slovaks from Upper Northern Hungary were settled here between 1701 and 1714. A church was built of stone here in 1775 and the tower was made with special permission in 1885, the dome of which reflects the characteristics of the architecture of Upper Northern Hungary. Sights include the Slovakian Regional House and the romantic branch of the Danube suitable for camping and fishing.
