in Kerekegyháza:   Hotel - Sight - Travel Service

The town founded in 1856 is situated in the heart of the Great Hungarian Plain, in the north of county Bács-Kiskun, in the region between the Danube and the river Tisza. Its history dates back to the age of Árpáds, when a round church was built giving the name of the town. It was first mentioned in records in 1323. The ancestors of the people living here dealt with shepherding, agriculture and fishing to earn their living. Famous representatives of arts, literature and science lived in the town. The traditions of folk music and dances are preserved. Plant cultivation has been replaced by keeping poultry. Its aluminium industry (Kőnig Kft., Agrikon), food industry, wood industry and its tourism are significant.
