in Kisbér:   Sight - Travel Service

Town with 5,895 inhabitants 27 km south of Komárom. Former Batthyányi mansion was built in Baroque style around 1770, then in 1840 it was rebuilt, currently it is used as a hospital. Central spot of the town is the stately Town Hall. Church with a ruined tower built in Baroque style, its towers were built afterwards (1828) is also worth seeing. The neo-Classic high altar and side-altars as well as the pulpit of the church, the latter one of the style of Louis XVI, are also remarkable monuments. Hungarian Royal Riding-School built in 1858, one of the largest covered riding-schools of Middle-Europe, is in the centre of the group of buildings called Ménesbirtok in commemoration of the horse-breeding activity of the village. Statue of count Béla Wenckheim created by János Fadrusz is in front of the building. Lake near the park is a valuable natural spot with wonderful environment. Visitors preferring village tourism can have accommodation at private houses in Hánta. It is worth visiting the museum of riding in the town centre. The Days of Kisbér, which are held in June every year, attract a lot of visitors.
