Village with 1,201 inhabitants (mainly ethnic Germans) 9 km north of Ajka. The Baroque Roman Catholic church was built in 1773. There are almost 100 peasant houses of Bakony Mountains, 43 of them preserve the one-time form of the village in a historic street. The village received the Europe Nostra award for this street. The Way of the Cross consisting of 5 stations attracts a lot of tourists. In the week of Whitsuntide and in the two weeks following it the Jesus Christ Passion of Polány is held every year. Its "house with a lock", a renewed cottage of Bakony provides accommodation for 12 persons. House of Creation: visitors can try different handicrafts and activities in monument workshops (pottery and graphics workshop, barn theatre, blacksmith's workshop, wood carving barn, drawing room).
