in Petőháza:

A village with 1,027 inhabitants, 25 km from Sopron, in the Fertő Hanság National Park, along the brook Ikva, right next to the Esterházy Palace of Fertőd. It was first mentioned in records in 1437 under the name Petwhaza. It is famous for its sugar factory belonging to the Hungarian Sugar ZRt. The 16 ha Sport and Leisure Centre belongs to the local council. Here you can find a bath with cold and thermal water, a swimming pool with a stretched surface, a sitting thermal pool and a children's pool, as well as shops, restaurants, accommodation facilities, a fishing lake, sports fields and an arboretum. Investors are welcome for its further development. Another attraction is the so-called "Cunpald-chalice", which was probably the chalice of the missionary bishop, Theodoricus, who lived here at the end of the 18th century. The chalice is preserved by the Museum of Sopron. The millennium exhibition called "The one thousand -year-old Hungary introduces itself" was presented in Passau, as well.
