Village with 3,214 inhabitants on the right shore of Lake Tisza on the Great Plain. The village, first recorded in 1323, was part of the estates of several families bearing historic names. An interesting local history collection is displayed in the village museum. The late Baroque church of the large village was built in 1777. On previous notice, visitors are also admitted to the hydroelectric power plant completed in 1972. The shores, islands and bays of Lake Tisza at Kisköre offer excellent opportunities for holiday making. It is an ideal place for lovers of aquatic sports and anglers will appreciate the rich population of fishes. Some rare bird species find their habitat on the variegated water surface. Two campsites, a beach and several private guest-houses await visitors.
