A town of 4,978 inhabitants in county Pest, 3 km from M5 highway. The main road No. 5 runs across the town. According to the archaeological findings it was inhabited as early as the Hungarian conquest. From the first third of the 13th century it was owned by the Grassalkovich family. Its Roman Catholic church was built between 1844 and 1847, the Calvinist church was completed in 1926. The Pálóczy-Horváth mansion built between 1889 and 1893 serves as a Leisure Time Centre today.
