Timár is one of the most beautiful settlements of Rétköz on the bank of the Tisza. It has 1,500 inhabitants. The Tisza and its backwaters are beautiful, the sand-bank of the Tisza is a pleasant bathing place, the backwaters are rich in fish, ideal for fishing. It is one of the landing places of Tisza tour. Sights: the Greek Catholic church and its iconostas. The Bodrogköz can be easily reached by ferry.
