Village with 1,348 inhabitants 15 km east of Berettyóújfalu, on the bank of the river Berettyó. The monument Calvinist church was built in 1791. Opposite the church you can find a museum housing an exhibition of local history presenting the wildlife of the region, too, as well as an exhibition on the history of schools. The neighbourhood is a remarkable hunting-field for brown hares, pheasants, roe-deer. Lovers of fishing are welcome to the 8 ha artificial fishing lake. In the saline oak-acacia grove there are some magnificent items of Austrian oak trees and several protected flower species, remnants of the original flora of the region. At a distance of 11 km you can find the Bocskai castle in Nagykerek, a historical museum of relics. |
