Village with 1,400 inhabitants at the road No. 49 in the direction of Mátészalka. Its name originates from the Slavic word 'járom'. The village, which was first mentioned in the 14th century, was formed at a crossroads. It was a typical gentry village at the beginning of the 19th century. The Calvinist church was built in the second half of the 18th century in late Baroque style, its 28 m high tower was erected in 1823. Other sights: the Saint Stephen statue with a decorated well and the Turul (mythical eagle of the ancient Hungarians). The mansion of the Kulin family was removed to the Museum Village in Sóstó. At present a swimming-pool for learners, sauna, solarium, fitness hall, sports grounds serve for healthy life.
