in Jászkisér:   Travel Service

This settlement has 6200 inhabitants and it is 30 km east of Jászberény, on the eastern edge of the Jászság. Its Protestant chuch is a Baroque building from 18th c. The Roman Catholic church was consecrated in 1906. The cultural centre was designed by the well-known architect, Imre Makovecz. The local history collection got the name of the ethnographist Balázs Csete, who was born in the village. This region is famous for growing onion, so in every October there is a harvest festival called Onion Day. Keeping the old traditions is very important in the village, so on the second week of August they organize a folk dance festival for children, and in December they revive the old children's games and rhymes. The lake is suitable for fishing.
