in Nyírtelek:

A village of over 7,000 inhabitants, north-west of Nyíregyháza, along the main road and railway line running towards Tokaj. According to the archeological finds the settlement dates back to the age of Brass, but it was not until 1952 that it became an independent village after the farms around Nyíregyháza had been united. Its modern origin is shown by the straight, precisely arranged streets intersecting at right angles. The Roman Catholic church was built in 1847 as the chapel of the Dessewffy family in the place of an orthodox church. The 18th century baroque statue of the Holy Trinity was brought here by the Dessewffy family, too, from their estate in Eperjes. Their mansion was built in the 19th century by extending a former Baroque building.
