Town with 4,980 inhabitants, frontier crossing place to the Ukraine and Russia. The development of the small settlement near Tisza was started by the construction of the railways between Nyíregyháza and Csap in 1872. An industrial sight is the gigantic, fully mechanised railway station and the railway reloading station required by the different rail-gauges. Monument buildings of the settlement are the Baroque Calvinist church and the house of regional traditions. Developed infrastructure and up-to-date servicing units provide for the comfort of tourists and businessmen visiting the town.
