MEO - the Collection of Contemporary Arts was opened in autumn 2001. It was founded with the aim of focusing more and more people's attention, including the lovers of arts and professional visitors, on modern fine art. The experience of the past years has shown that these efforts were successful, since the exhibitons of Andres Serrano, Peter Greenaway or Nobuyoshi Araki have been visited by thousands of people. Visitors could enjoy the works by the outstanding representatives of Hungarian contemporary arts, Adrián Kupcsik and SI-LA-Gi. Once a week, on Friday the Collection of Contemporary Fine Arts 'MEO' is open until 10 p.m. like several important art collections abroad, but this has been unusual in Hungary so far. Apart from the exhibition, visitors can find a cafe, a lecture hall and a book shop in the building.
